The Roman Society's Archaeology Committee was pleased to help sponsor the First Nottinghamshire History & Archaeology Day on 21st June 2014. Organised by Dr Clare Pickersgill (University of Nottingham Museum), the event featured displays by local history and archaeology societies and regional archaeology units; talks on local archaeological projects; hands on sessions with archaeological material found in Nottinghamshire, including coins, pottery, stone artifacts, animal bones and environmental material; and an opportunity to view the Portable Antiquities Database and Historic Environment Record for Nottinghamshire.
